Description

This design differs from typical pop tops available in the market by being primarily a ‘fit yourself’ unit. The kit will come in modular form. The sections will be bolted together using neatly countersunk bolts.  The modular form allows the kit to be packed in a crate, reducing the shipping cost significantly.  It also allows for ease of handling and painting in a home workshop.

The ‘fit yourself’ concept is designed to make pop-top conversions more affordable for those who possess DIY skills, which is common among many Land Rover enthusiasts.The installation process has been simplified specifically for passionate Land Rover owners who love to work on their own vehicles. Notably, it eliminates the need for drilling and Nutsert fittings in the main frame, except for specific accessories like awning brackets. During the laser cutting and CNC folding processes, all necessary holes are pre-cut for convenience. The inner sides of the rails feature slots for easy access to nuts and bolts, as well as for routing wiring and other components.

Aluminum components are laser cut, CNC folded, and assembled through a combination of bonding, riveting, TIG welding, and Pulse welding techniques.

Major components are constructed from 3mm aluminium.

Note: Some cutting of the roof is necessary, but this can be easily managed by individuals with basic tool skills. For detailed fitting instructions, please refer to this link:

Lead time is approximately 8 weeks as the canvas is made to order in your choice of colour ( See colour chart below ) .

For an order to proceed, a deposit of AU$5,000 will be required as canvas orders and major components manufacture must be fully paid before production.

Additional information

This is the assembled Pop Top kit in bare aluminium.

All hardware, fasteners etc will be supplied (Not pictured)  (Canvas not pictured)

The bed frame and rear hatch are on gas struts, so when not in use they can be raised to allow maximum head space / standing room in the back of the vehicle.

This is an example of how the bed base and hatch can be finished off with some 12mm plywood.

Note: The plywood is not included in the kit due to the size for shipping.

Rijidij Pop Top Camper DIY conversion kit for 109 Series Land Rover

The Series 109 pop top is the same as the defender except for the following variances……..

The standard height on the production unit is 1400mm.  Approximately 1500mm internal head space.

You have the option of increasing it to 1700mm (+$200).  Approximately 1800mm internal head space.

The production unit also has a rear awning flap included as standard.  (Same as on the 110 pictured above)

The rear flaps and fly screen on the production unit are all fitted with zips, so it fully opens at the back.

The side fly screens are fixed as standard, but you have the option to add zips to the sides (+$180)

Note: The below pictures are of our first 109 pop top. The current pop top design will include a rear awning flap and zips to the rear mesh. Also, the canvas height at the rear on this one is 1200mm, the current pop top design will be 1400mm (1700mm Optional)
